Re: Stupid STARTER!!!!! NEED help fast!!!!!!
Probably the only thing you can do is remove the exhaust manifold.
I can't exactly remember, but I believe the manifolds down pipe is welded to the catalytic converter.
Thats really the only thing I can think of to remove the starter.

Sawzall FTW. Actually just remove your Y pipe if it is a stock exhaust. If not cut it and then have it welded back together at a exhaust shop.08' L76 6.0L 4X4 Chevy EXT.Cab LTZ Vortec MAX with Snug top cover, Dynomax exhaust,Hptuners& K&N intake
96' Camaro M5 to A4 conversion, alot of mods . GT35R Turbo full suspension. Built engine

Yeah, being stock and old, they are rusted and stuck. If you had the time, I'd say put some tranny fluid on it and let it sit 24 hours. It'll get in there and eat the rust up and lubricate it. Should slide right off, or some heat from MAP gas torch expands the nuts.
Forget its bolted on the Y pipe, or at least should have been when the car was built.
Do you have a pneumatic wheel cutter? Thats what I used to cut my cat out. I don't live in Chicago so we don't have emission testing here. Although being Rockford, wouldn't doubt it happening soon.
Anyways, back on topic. You should probably try and cut the nuts and bolts out instead of the exhaust and get some OEM replacements. That way everything is easier to remove if you replace your exhaust system.
