Re: Noise from the fuel pump
i just rolled a 100,000 on it yesturday then it started making the noise
Now with that fuel pump does that just replace the orignal one in the tank or how does that work and is it supost to help with performance not to sound stupid

Re: Noise from the fuel pump
my dad's 02' impala has had two fuel pumps that have made the humming noise
they said that there have been a lot of complaints about that.. im not sure if they are the same pump though.
also, try replacing your fuel filter first, it may be pretty bad and is making the pump work extra hard

the first one made the noise, and he took it back during warrenty, at about 40k miles, they replaced the fuel pump, regulator, and the filter
the new pump didnt make the noise, then started to, but my dad just delt with it, it did seem to only make it while it was warm out though
it made the noise for two summers, and hasnt made it yet this summer
also a few months ago, i heard a humming noise from the pump in my 98' but it only did it for a day and hasnt come back since, and after about 3000 miles

Re: Noise from the fuel pump
I have also noticed this noise just a couple of times. My car has about 27,000, but the noise only happens when it is hot and I have been driving it for a while on a low tank of gas. I usually try my best to keep the tank over 1/4 full. I do not think the pump is faulty, since it is still fairly new, but the factors I listed most likely cause it to overheat and hum.2002 Camaro A4
K&N FIPK
Ravin exhaust
15.64 @ 90.11 MPH

_ _ ___________________ _ _
2004 Quicksilver/Black GTO M6
Stock except !CAGS
