  • starter removal 1996 fbird

    i am having trouble getting the starter out of my 1996 firebird (3800). ive got the heat shield off but i cant seem to get the one bolt out to the starter. i am having clearence issues with the y pipe and how snug the bolt is to the starter and motor. do i need to remove or any tip any to get them out or do i just need to stare at is some more as i have been doing for the last 2 hours.

    i now got the nut/bolt combo off. i just cant fit the socket to get the rear bolt out. id hate to have to pay someone to install my starter because of one bolt. that would be one expensive bolt.
