Does anyone know FOR SURE if the L67 rods are stronger than those in the L36? I only want Yes or No answers.

Ok, since there haven't been any other answers yet, on a more serious note, I thought it's been said on here that the L67 rods are forged, and ours are not.

If so, then the forged ones would be stronger...

They aren't forged, pretty sure on that one. Not sure of the design though. In my new engine I'm using shot-peened L67 rods with custom forged Ross pistons. Thats what all the GTP guys are running it seems so it should hold up well. Intense uses them in their race-ready short blocks, and they say those are capable of handling 550+ horses, so.......I take it they're rather strong. I haven't seen the rods to do a side by side comparison, I guess I could get my lazy *** off the couch and into the shop and take some digital pics......
You want to know what\'s on my car? Tough luck!

UNFNick2k. Thank you. That was the MOST helpfull post.

Is it me or is the upper part of the L67 rods narrower than the L36. Is that what they looked like before metal was shaved or is that the result of the shave?

No Problem Oryan...most, not all, but most of the people that post on here don't give you the answer to the question you ask. Probably because they don't know the answer but they sure love to post stuff even if its wrong or of no help.

I'm not sure what they did to shave it or if they did at all. You can ask Stefan i'm sure he'll be happy to answer your questions. Good luck and keep us posted on your findings
