What are the top speed limiters on the 3.4, 3.8 and LT1/LS1?

I have a 125 mph speedometer on a car that tops out at 118, I dont like it. I have only taken it to 110, figured it would wrap up around 130 or so.1999 FirebirdComment

FWIW, it's because the tires that come with the car (assuming base package) are T rated, which means they're only safe up to 118 mph. ;)Originally posted by SilverBirdSeven:

For what its worth I have heard of z28s with 118 speed limiters. Im pretty sure mine was 114 stock. 97 3.8 m5 with stock 245 50 r16 tires and 5 spoke chrome rims
