Re: overheating
slponline.com cuz they make one or zzperformance.com
I think the run around 30 bucks or so, but cant remember for sure. I wouldnt take the stat completly out so instead install a 160 stat and have the ECU set for that stat. That way ur fans would come on after exceeding a 200 or so temp cuz a 160 stat will still warm u up to about 180 give or take a few degrees.Last edited by Firehawk N Wv; 09-11-2008, 09:38 PM.01\'Y87 Firebird:Gt1 cam,Vig.3000 stall

Re: overheating
Not necessarily. If u know someone local to you who can tune your car using HPTuners then they can do it or you can go by Hypertechs handheld tuner that does basic thing such as adjusting for the stat. Someone tuneing your car may run 100-200 bucks depending on the person doing it. The HPP3 programmer will cost you around 300 or so. Im sure there is someone in your area who tunes vehicles.01\'Y87 Firebird:Gt1 cam,Vig.3000 stall

Re: overheating
As frogger said no it wont at all. Im not sure eactly how it hooks up but I think its a plug n' play somewhere in the fan harness then u run it into the inside of the car through the firewall and just mount it where u please.01\'Y87 Firebird:Gt1 cam,Vig.3000 stall

Re: overheating
don't Run with an open Stat, will ruin engine, & cause horrible gas mileage. running lower stat will not prevent car from overheating, just makes engine temp lower when cooling system working Okay, if cooling system not okay, lower stat useless. must fix cause of overheating to prevent overheating. Reprogram ECM as suggested above to correct mismatched stat from factory fan turn on temp.

Re: overheating
put the t-stat back in not having a tstat will make it look like your running cooler but in reality you hotter the t-stat slows/stops the coolant from moving which allows the heat to transfer to the coolant, with out a tstat the coolant is rushing threw so fast it cant effectivly absorb the heat from the engine so the coolant is cooler but the engine is hotter, make sense?
