i havent tried the ase chip personally but the jet stage 2 sucks. logged with scan tool, it sucks. i imagine the ase does not do much more than the jet. i may be wrong, like i said i have no personal experience with the ase chip, but all these things do is make VERY MINOR alterations to air:fuel mixture and ignition timing. spend the money on something more worthwhile.ASE Master, L1, X1, C1. I haven't heard anything really bad about the ASE chip as far as performance, and lots of bad rumors about the JET chip - enough that the volume of rumors probably means something.
If you have an automatic, the ASE chip alters the line pressure, for "better shifts". I haven't researched it, but some people on here say that is bad for the transmission in the long haul. It was enough to make me hold off for a while on it...\'98 A4 Camaro v6->v8 conversion, and STS kit next
v6: 13.6 Powerdyne, 13.2 150 shot, 13.8 120 shot, 14.3 85 shot, 15.7 stock
v8(na): 12.18@113, 392rwhp
Moderator on www.mtfba.org and www.frrax.com (Road Race & Autocross)
Car pics, TN Region SCCA

I dated someone from Columbia about 4 years ago.
And was in the Air Force for 6 years, back in the 80's.
As far as the original topic goes, anyone heard anything new for the '98? I have an autotap on order (due in on the 22nd), and the new laptop came yesterday, but the autotap isn't going to let me actually change anything. It would be great to be able to go tweak rpms, speed limiter, maps, etc...

This is all very curious since the only thing I have more than a friend is my Jet Chip Stage II and my car is a little faster on the top end, mainly just in 3rd gear. Actually my worst run last time at the track was better than his best ever. I'll have to yank the chip next time at the track and see if I can actually be consistant enough to compare runs.
I would dyno but there's not one around here. I thought it was dynoed to give like 11hp though, what was up with that?1997 Nassau Blue Vette
1989 Jeep Cherokee 4x4 (lifted with 31\" tires)
2000 V6 Camaro, loud, cammed 210rwhp *SOLD*
