pictures of the cylinder walls is what we need, there should be nothing special on the rings

I had the block bored .030 over about 3 years ago so no pictures there. I would expect that any gunk buildup on the cylinder walls would also be on the rings since they were in constant contact with each other.

I heard Z-max is mineral oil with food coloring. But, in independent lab tests, they proved that household bleach has better anti-friction properties than Z-max. They still sell Z-max in the stores. Thus, I would highly suggest putting household bleach in the oil for ultimate protection and reduced engine wear. My guess is that household bleach won't mix with oil, so it would probably be better to drain the oil completely and fill the engine crank case with just bleach.

Stop putting crap in the engine crankcase.
Just one of the hundreds of articles debunking engine oil additives:

This engine oil crap, fuel saver crap and E.D. potency crap (well... viagra and cialias work, but I still wouldn't mix them with my engine oil) all makes lots of money even though they don't do jack, that's why they keep going. Testimonials are crap. If anyone has a controlled tests that they have performed using engine oil additive, complete with all the details and are willing to field questions from other experts in the field, then I would say, BRING ON THE PROOF. In the meantime, just listen to the people that don't have anything to loose saying that they have compared the engine oil additives and they don't work. What more do you need?

one more analogy: Bandaid = engine oil additive. Bandaids are great for covering up the cut, but if your artery is hemorrhaging, that cartoon character Bandaid might make the cut look cute, but you'll be out of blood soon to appreciate it.

(legal disclaimer: DO NOT PUT BLEACH IN YOUR ENGINE. YOU WILL MOST CERTAINLY DESTROY THE ENGINE by putting bleach in the engine oil)

thank god for this link.. i always tell people to NEVER use seafoam in their crank case for this reason:

If you overuse such products you can damage your engine by promoting metal to metal contact.
nobody ever believes me and tells me its good for the engine.. yeah its good for the first 100 miles until the dirt gets washed away and puts 10,000 miles of wear on your engine every 50 miles..
