Oil ??

I know every car is different but at what milage does a daily driven car start to burn oil? I noticed my car is kinda starting to but its not consistent, i keep the oil really fresh, sometimes itll burn half a quart after 2000 miles. Is this normal?

It'll burn oil? or lose oil?
Could be a leaking rear main seal... in which case yes its "normal." Does it smell of burnt oil after you shut it off? Mine is leaking and it gets burnt up by my Y-pipe.

no and there isnt anything visable as far as leaking but who knows..i guess its almost a good time for a cam/rebuild.

Oh yeah i do have headers, could the y pipe being closer have that affect on it.. wow i didnt think of that, i mean if nothing was leaking?

I'd still check for a leaking rear main before doing a rebuild... very very common problem on our cars.

hopefully i can get a look at it soon. The car just went over 83k so yeah its very possible.

83k isn't much at all. I'm at 95k and i'm losing oil at about the same rate as you.. maybe a bit slower due to a leaking rear main. I figure by the time i lose enough oil that i need to add some in, its about time for an oil change.

yeah thats what ive been doing plus, you think it matters if you are running synthetic or not, my oil filter capacity shouldnt have anything to do with it?
