    Re: Starter Just Died.

just an FYi, I bought a used one from here for like $30 and it worked fine for years. Its a used part I would deal with since starters seem to get "tired" before they die, and its an easy part to swap, just 2 botls holding it in and a heatshield. Wires are easy too.

I'd hassle with 2 used ones before I bought a new one from a parts store for $165, I heard the part store ones were a bit noisiery. I believe I read on another recent thread that Gm parts department was actually selling them for cheaper then the autoparts stores, I could be wrong but give your dealer a call.

So how did the install go? Were any of the exhaust pipes in the way?

Yeah, The y-pipe got in the way sometimes when taking ouyt the 2 bolts holding the starter in, but I worked around it. The heatshield was harder to get off than the starter itself.
