Ok this just started 2 weeks ago i turned my car on in the morning and it ticks but whennn it warms up it stops what the hell is it?Is it my valves or an exuast leak?OR do i need to give it an oil change i haven't gave it an oil change since early november and it was at 127kms now its at 134km!
Canadian made metelicGreen 1995 3.4 M5 FireBird
mods:(NEW)-->Jetchip stage 2 ,K&N Cold Air Intake DynoMax ExuastCat back oh yea dont have a cat,Underdrive Pullies, headers
Next mods:fuc the v6 and get a Lt1
the noise youre hearing could be a lifter tick. its possible that its an exhaust leak if you had a broken manifold bolt or gasket. But then again you said it went away when warmed so Id say its most likely a lifter tick. My car(95 3.4) does it right after I change the oil. My 91(3.1)did it since I bought it with 115k on the clock it now has over 200k and the noise is exactly the same so I just leave it alone.Hope this helps.
there is no way to actually cure them without replacing them. you should get on a schedule of changing your oil every 3k. you could also try and additive for the oil but if I was you I would just change the oil.

well... a lot of mopar owners swear by marvel mystery oil in the crankcase. i use it in my mopar. havent seen any problems. the lifters are a bit quieter with mmo than without.
I had a tick too, mine I just needed to adjust my rockers, I did that first only cost me a gasket set, fixed my tick that I had 15,000 miles ago.
Possible easy remedie, is to buy some sort of engien flusher, Its a chemical you add jsut before you cahnge your oil, it cleans out some of the ugnk, tickking can happen from sticking lifters or rockers. Might be a quick fix, and it woouldn't hurt to do on your car since its older, and its been awhile since your last oil change.
Another thing to watch for on the 3.4L engine is the fuel injectors. If you do a search on the board you'll find that all camaros have loud fuel injectors that can sometimes make a loud ticking noise which could easily be mistaken for a lifter. Usually this happens when the injectors are older. I have a 3.4 and mine do it while the engine is cold.
