  • headlight buzz Help PLEASE!!!!

Can any1 tell me how to fix my headlights? They go down, but buzz once down (sounds like gear is not catching). Also, when I hit the lock button on my remote, they come back up and then go down again and buzz. any1 who can help please!!!

My friend's alarm does the same thing. Do they come back up for a moment and close again? I think that's normal - the equivilant of headlights flashing on and off on most cars.

Mine also buzz once they go down. I've heard this is the sign of a gear wearing out, like the mesh is becomming worn. They're not too difficult to replace once shot and it is common knowledge that the firebird headlight motors are of pretty poor design anyway.

first off the headlights coming up and going down is not a normal thing when you hit the lock or unlock button on the fob... mine do the same thing and it started about 3 or 4 weeks ago... i bought the car in feb and it didnt happen then... i have found only my driverside light buzzes and if i unplug the motor and hit the unlock button that the pass. light will come up once but then not again... after pluging the driver motor back it it doesnt happen untill i turnt the headlights on again... now is that some wiring thing or is it just my driver motor sucks?

Your headlight gear probably is stripped or nearly so. When it goes bad, you may start to get those weird side effects in addition to a loud noise. It is a common ailment on Firebirds. See this site:

yea, I figured it out. you need to buy a brass gear and then you can install it into your headlight motor.
