  • where is my fuel pressure regulator located at on my 98 camaro

I just bought a brand new fuel pressure regulator for my 98 camaro and I can't seem to locate it so I can change it out I wanna do it really bad can someone help me out. My car takes a while to crank up so I figured this may be the problem I just bought brand new ss chrome tips and wanna hear them fire up instantly instead of having to hold the key for 5 to 10 seconds.

I am also looking for the place where my fuel pressure gauge device goes in my engine I do not see anything that this will sscrew in every black cap I screw off will not fit my fuel pressure guage can someone help please thanks

If it's in the same location as my '99, it should be towards the back behind the coil packs under the cowl. Follow the fuel rail to the back and you'll see the regulator housing with a small black vacuum hose running from it that leads into the intake. It's attached by a snap ring.

Be careful of the screws hanging down from the cowl. They will cut up your arm pretty easily. And look into getting a new vacuum line for the regulator, the fuel running through it will cause it to prematurely dry out.

Here's a step-by-step from another member on the site. You'll need a special tool for removing the fuel rail, can be bought/borrowed from any automotive store (Autozone, O'Reilly's, Pepboys, etc). You'll also snap ring pliers to get the snap ring off to replace the fuel pressure regulator.
