heres my ported and polished 3.8 T/B, did it myself:banana:anyone can do it, well not anyone because it takes 20% skill 30% patience and 50% time lol but we will see how it goes when i install it tomorrow, tell me what you think, come on,congratulate me lol i did it all by myself, ask any questions if you want.
Looks like there is NO porting. Someone polished a stock TB.
well that someone is me and im not senile enough to forget that i ported it,the humps below the MAF are slightly ported and these t/b's come with a screne which has a lip(2.5mm) which was removed and widened, so dont post dumbass statements like that.

Your effort will result in ZERO gains and most likely throw your AFR off so bad it will run poorly and possibly blow up. But don't whine to any one here when it does.

what he means is the screen is a functioning part of the intake system. not having one throws off the readings of the mass air flow sensor and will result in a richer fuel mixture and you will most likely get a rough idle. i had mine off for a while it idled rough rode with it like that for about a month and put it back in. it is a good polish job though.

thanks, but although the screen is functional i have been running without a screen for over a year and had no problems, without the screen the idle is a bit of on a cold start,THAT'S IT.sure it protects from objects but i have a pretty good K&N,but BRIAN seems to be quite ignorant, not knowing that you can delete the screen which i did way before i P&P, this left a lip that the screen rests on which i ported down enlarging the opening, porting it too much would cause eratic idling and will result in low gains, FYI BRIAN, i didnt do it for power, but for smoother running, i already have power in my LT1.

it doesn't block objects. if the object is small enough to get past your air filter you think that screen would catch them? it straightens the air so to create a better a/f reading.

good point, and yes i know it straightens the airflow which is good for angled T/B's but is not nesessary for 99+ camaro's with straight T/B's, and i have another T/B so it's no big deal at all lol im probably going to sell this one,it depends.

i took mine out today, and it had flies stuck to it. no idea how they got past the k&n, but something happend. i havent noticed any difference in idle, and no power gains, if anything it seems slower...reasons?

well like the above posters said, it straightens the air flow to give the MAF and IAC sensors better readings,if not the car will run slightly rich, which is kinda good, but these guys don't know that i have a PCM that is tuned to accomadate for these advancements, just as you would put a 160* thermostat, this makes the car run cooler by opening at different rates and tricking the computer to add more fuel to maximize cooler running, this also makes the car run slightly rich, so my PCM's ignition is slightly advanced and leaned out slightly, runs perfect for me.
well, i already have black smoke when i nail it, so doesnt that mean its already rich?? like not your normal little bit of black smoke, like a good bit, plus i have no cat.

So my truck is finally getting some work done, after 17 years, Oil pressure sensor went out and it’s located under the lower intake manifold. Have to...
