clean your screen out, put it back in and change both O2 sensors. I hope you don't have to pass emissions. some fuel system cleaner probably wouldn't hurt.

i live in alabama, no emissions here. by both do you mean the two upstream, or the one that would be after the cat? or all three

I meant the two upstream. Without a cat anything downstream is going mess with you anyway. Consider getting a sim.

you dont need the screen but that black smoke is not normal, i too dont have a cat and before the tune you can smell the cra is dumping fuel but as far as flooring it and seeing a puff of black smoke??? only turbo diesels and evos etc anything with a turbo and too much fuel. but on start ups i do see some smoke, the best thing is to get some sea foam deep creep, spray it into the intake(remove MAF,precaution)when the car is warm, let it sit for about 10 to 20 then start it up and it burns out, after this it would be wise to do an oil change and also look into a tune so you can save some of that unburnt fuel, my friend can do it for about $50.

yea your are not going to see any gains or smoother running from doing this. The only thing it is going to help is getting that thing cleaned off from the oil/grime buildup you had before.

If you were trying to port it out you would remove the whole MAF post and use a 99+ maf that has its own smaller housing. Then file down the tb blade screws and such.

What you did is just clean up the grime you had built up and might see some smoother running from that.

BTW, the stock tb is huge already, so no need to do this on your car unless you are shoving a ton of FI into it

good thinking, but should i do it,i have a spare MAF from 2002, and would i notice any gains, because it goes to a certain point, if you max out the tb then it rushes through and gets slowed down by the stock plenum.

again, our stock tb are huge already and it is not a mod that needs to be done. The fastest v6 cars run stock tb's for a reason

65mm is big for a V6, there are V8's that don't even have that big of TB.
