  • HELP!CAR BOGGING ON HILLs

Hey my car has been bogging on hills now for a week or so,i noticed today that when this is happing my fuel gauge drops too. the car also starts to run out of gas before it hits empty, like right before empty but most cars ya have a little while on empty. It seems that if when it starts doing this i tramp on it,the car will go,its just if i hold it steady it bogs and shakes a bit. any ideas

I highly recommend not letting your car run lower then 1/4 tank. It is not good for the pump.

fuel gauge is just the way out cars are, they arent any good. you say if you give it some gas itll go, so you have an automatic right? does it seem stuck in a high gear and when you give it the gas it downshifts??

yeah sort of,it is an auto, but it seems kinda boggy in park now too, when sitting there every few seconds it will get a little shake through the car.and the other day it started to bog in town, felt like it was out of gas,the gauge dropped to empty from half full then it picked back up and started going again.

                Re: HELP!CAR BOGGING ON HILLs

After just driving to school i think it is bogging because its not downshifting when going up a hill, its like the car has no power in the gear its in,what could this be from??

well sometimes mine does that stays in like fourth when it needs to be in third. just happens, you may have another problem, but to me it just sounds normal. the gas needle could just be a coincidence. any mods??

                    Re: HELP!CAR BOGGING ON HILLs

No just catback, i think it might be normal too and im just hearing it more because of the exhaust,it sorta travles through it, but it goes away as soon as i hit the gas and it downshifts, but the odd time its really bad like surging or somting so that makes me think its not normal?

like the rpms change? or the car itself actually surges?

I dont know if the rpms are changing but its sorta jerky like if it was running out of gas ,but if i put the peddle down till it down shifts it runs fine.

that actually just sounds normal. didnt you say you recently got exhaust?? if so, then you really dont have a problem, your just noticing normal stuff...thats my 2 cents
