Hey guys. Thanks again for the responses to my last thread. This question has to do with code scanning. I got the car running Sun. Monday I drove it to work and on the way(about 1/2 way into the 13 mile trip) The check engine light came on, but went off as I got onto the highway and up to 65 mph. On the way home the light came on again but stayed on. Same thing today, both ways. I stopped by autozone to see if they could scan it and they said they couldn't(95 camaro, 3.4), which was what I had thought prior to asking, but had to ask anyway. Both the Pontiac and Chevy dealer service centers charge $70+ just to read a code, not to mention they close about 1/2 hour before I get off work. I am wondering where everyone else goes for this, if it's even possible on that bastardized OBD1 1/2 system, or where I can purchase a scan tool of my own(if they even make them for that). Any help is appreciated.

it is the same kit just get the cheapest one if you are gonna buy one.
if it really is 70+ $ just for a code scan then after 2 times you already would have paid for the scanner. plus you can do a whole lot more as stated in my review thread.
and since it reads obd 2 as well, you can scan tons of different cars.
charge your friends 10$ per scan and you'll start to make some money back.
sorry for ranting, it just makes no sense having codes read at the stealerships.
