Did you check your coil packs to make sure there good? You should check your fuel pressure reading also. It's best to check these things first before throwing money at parts. I did have a problem once with my car starting and running and it was the map sensor which is mounted to the passenger side of the upper intake. Check to see if the vacuum lines going to it aren't cracked or disconnected. The vacuum line is shared with the fuel pressure regulator. If the fuel pressure regulator leaks it will send fuel into this line. Something else you can check for.
Ok, I will try to check that. If I understand correctly...
LOL I know what it supposed to look like. Thats why I said that aint it...
So what do it do next? What causes weak spark?
Strangly though when my friend was hit by the wire while someone ended up cranking, it was the blue and the spark it should have been. Should it have been like that with a weak spark. I would imagine not if the issue lies ahead of the plugs them selves. Of course hes not a spark plug though :D

sorry, my bad, just didnt read everything.
i didnt familiarize myself with this thread, but weak spark is usually caused by bad wires, then bad plugs, and finally bad coils.
Heres another question... If its a spark issue, then why did it try to run off of the starter fluid?
just because the spark is weak doesnt mean it wont run
hell, the HEI i had on my other engine had a really weak spark, but the engine still ran.. awesomely i might add just really rich, it was being run with the STOCK resistor wire comming off of the harness
i didnt get a chance to fix it though, as i took the engine out the next day.. i can tell you that i ran a direct power wire to the distrib, changed the coil and cleaned the contacts off of the distrib and still had bad spark.. this was with different wires, and plugs.. i even tried to fab up my distrib to bypass the HEI and use a normal coil, but it didnt work.. i know this doesnt apply to you, but weak spark is not always caused by obvious things
Re: Im back! And with a 94 Camaro ~ need direction!
Your right about that it could be so many things. One other thing you might want to check and is often overlooked is ground wires. If any ground wires are broken, corroded or missing you could have problems. I don't know if this motor was ever out of this car but if so they might have left off or did not connect some of the ground wires. You should have two large grounds going to the motor. One is a braided wire on the drivers side engine block to the chassis. Second one runs from the negative batt post to the chassis to the block on the passenger side. There is also a group of grounds bolted to the engine block on the front passenger head. These grounds could be for the ignition controls not really sure but you might want to check them.
Re: Im back! And with a 94 Camaro ~ need direction!
Ok finally got some flow and bought some plugs; ACdelco :D
I tested one to check the spark and it was perfect and blue. So then I put it in #3 and turned her over, and she stumbled :D
Of course I didnt have enough time today to change out any others. So tomorrow, hopefully, Ill get the rest installed. I know its a long shot but stumbling is deff an improvement.
So Im thinking that maybe it was the bad gas that killed the plugs (and the fact that Autolite sucks)?
Re: Im back! And with a 94 Camaro ~ need direction!
Yay, she runs... But not so well. Anytime its anything other than a slow rev or at a steady RPM it hesitates.
This is cold or hot, not driving.
New gas (again), with SeaFoam
SeaFoamed the engine (couldnt see the sky while doing it)
Cleaned the EGR and tested it by temporarily bypassing
New air filter
Something Ive noticed is that there are two punched holes in the front of the CAT, and hammer dents. Im guessing its a technique to gut a clogged CAT? I have plenty of flow coming out of the tail pipe but could the CAT be the issue? And if I rev the engine high enough and let off the car will backfire, including out of the EGR?!?!
Re: Im back! And with a 94 Camaro ~ need direction!
Tested the coils (primary not infinite and secondary a hair below 5 on all coils). Tested the plug wires, resistance was between 3 and 7. Went to get the ICM tested but AZ was closed and Ad doesnt do it anymore... Ill be checking it in the morning at AZ.
So my truck is finally getting some work done, after 17 years, Oil pressure sensor went out and it’s located under the lower intake manifold. Have to...
Hey guys. For starters I’ve always been a big car guy, I love all types of cars and can appreciate all types of engineering. I’ve always been a Chevy...
