How many miles do you get with a full tank of gas? I only got 225 from my tank and people say they get 300. How do I get better gas mileage? Are there any mods that increase gas mileage?

99.9% of the time I fill up when it gets to 1/4 and by that time I usually have around 300 miles, give or take. I do 90% freeway driving, keep that in mind and I have a program on my PDA that calculates the mileage and its usually around the 24-25 miles per gallon range.
I used to get better mileage when my EGR was bad...since I replaced it I've actually gotten worse mileage. Just makes sure your plugs, wires, filters are clean and the tires have the proper PSI in them. It also depends on driving habits too...

Try figuring the MPG. I'm sure you didn't run out of gas w/ 225 miles. Next time you fill up, take you're mileage (225 for example), then fill up you're tank and divide 225 by the gallons you put in. It might be a little better than you think. I usually fill up around 250 miles; i've gotten well over 300, but thats on all highway miles so keep that in mind.

I have a 2002 Camaro and usually I get about 23 mpg. I do an even amount of highway and local driving. The most I've gone was about 340 miles before I filled up again, but that was cuz the needle was on E and I didn't really know how far past the E I should let the needle go. But it turns out I had about 3 gallons of fuel left.
As for mods, I don't think any one mod that helps get better mileage. But I think if you smooth out the intake and exhaust, you should do a little better. Also I read that the MSD DIS-4 would get you better mileage. Someone please confirm that.

No way! Really? When i first got my car like 5 years ago, i ran out of gas once. The needle never even touched the 'E'. It was damn close but never touched. I read in the manual you are supposed to have 1 gallon left when it gets to the 'E'... it never got there and i sure enough ran out. Haven't made that mistake since. Did they make it more accurate in 98+? Why don't they just put a damn fuel light on the dash anyway like every other car?

Are we talking tank to tank mileage or MPG. I average about 25MPG. Now if I drive say 50 miles and fill it up then I am only getting 50 miles to the tank right. Wrong. You guys have to figgure the MPG and not miles per tank.
City driving about 25 MPG on the freeway at 75 mph I average 32 MPG. So with a 16 gallon tank that would be 512 miles range, however I never push it that far. All this is done at an elevation of 5000 feet above sealevel.>>OH 1 FIREBIRD SunsetOrangeMetalic
Not at All Stock

I normally get in the middle 300's to a tank and I generally fill up before it's too empty (about 13.5 or 14 gal).1998 V6 m5
ram air mod
(the sc is for south carolina not super charged but maybe that will change)
\"Thank the Lord for air tools\"
