    I have a 1996 3.8 (5 speed) with some internal engine issues. I found a 2002 3.8 Camaro with 47K
I am getting the engine complete. It is my understanding the the only thing I have to change is the throttle body a cable linkage. Has anyone done this upgrade? Can i really use all the 2002 sensors and accessories/brackets with my computer system?

Another question. I am told the exhaust manifold are better flowing the my stock 96. Will my Y pipe fit? if not can I get the Y-pipe off the 2002 and use my converter back system?

    Thanks

The injectors, injector connectors on the wiring harness and fuel rail are different. The computers might be different too depending on what gears the car has and if its an A4 or M5 tranny. The upper intake manifolds are different as well.

Correct. 2000-2002 came with tubular manifolds are better than any preceding year stock manifold.

        .

Do you know if my injectors will fit into the 2002 intake or should I plan on using the complete 96 intake? is there a way to use the newer injectors?

Correct. 2000-2002 came with tubular manifolds are better than any preceding year stock manifold.
Anyone know a parts list of what I should get off the junk yard engine so I can use these better manifold? I already have a aftermarket converter back system I would like to reuse.

I would like to go tomorrow with list of all the parts I need. I think I have to put a down payment so they will pull the motor out of it current home on Monday.

You can use your existing injectors and fuel rail with the new motor. Sorry, I should have clarified that in my last post.

You could probably use your existing Y pipe too.

No, you can't. The manifolds extend down further (they are longer) than the older ones. You can use the 2002 y pipe and your cat back, but you might have to do some welding.

correct,i have the same swap, and you will need your old injector,TB,and upper intake manifold, different y pipe. just use some off ur old parts because the new TB is electric and has a different bolt patern for the upper intake so you need to change both the TB and intake along with fuel rail+injectors and y pipes,i used my stock log manifold but i also want to put my tubular's on but i guess i have to get a custom Y pipe.
