My car came from the factory with 3323 lbs. I would not remove the A/C...That is going to far.

I wouldn't have any problem removing the A/C, although I'm not going to since I'm gonna sell my car (for a V8) soon anyways. Main reason because I NEVER, repeat, NEVER, use my A/C. If it's cold, I use the fan to blow hot air, and if it's hot, I ride w/ the windows down.

threr are only a few things that are ok to do w/o going overboard. removing the spare tire and jack, getting a Bmr lightweight k-member, aluminum or carbon fiber driveshaft, GM aluminum heads, forged rims, racing seats, aluminum flywheel(if you can find one), lightweight transmission build-up, and maybe getting rid of the rear seat. for some, this may be going overboard, but it's just me. I don't think the a/c, sterio, or passenger seat needs to be gotten rid of since you are not really gonna make it a drag strip car only.

my best weighted in at 3160, and i average 3200 on the scale, thas with no jack/spare, but all seats and AC.

The weight on your registration is not right. Guy was telling me his fully loaded, mechanical seated Lt1 weighed 3060, lighter then my no optioned 3.4L. According to his registration.

I agree with Patrick. AC and stereo removal is going overboard in my opinion. Unless you live in an area that is never cold or never rains. Especially since I every time I'm driving in the rain or cold the windows fog up. Thank god for defrost. Otherwise I would of ran into a pole or something. Oh yeah and the stereo removal I don't know I just love music way to much. But that's just my two cents. I guess it all depends on the driver. Oh yeah and Patrick you think you can help me out? Where can I get a Carbon Fiber Driveshaft? Thanks!

Re: Ultra Slim Fast for your car....

im currently working on getting my car to be very light weight. i donty think i will be able to afford things like the lightweight Kmember and tubular a arms or any or that but i am removing pretty mch anything i feel is unnesscessary on my car.

i weighed my car just last year before i started doing this and with me and a full tank of gas the car weighed 3500lbs. im looking to make it less than 3. ill keep you guys posted on everything i remove and what not. definatelywill let you know end weight as well.

ps. i feel like going overboard with weight reductions!!!
