i put to much oil in my car and prob driving for a mile it started tapping and the check gauges light popped on when i got it home the check gauge light was off but it still tapping will draiing some oil get rid of the tapping or are the lifters shot?

I don't no if your Overfill situation is as bad as mine but I still haven't found the solution to getting my gas mileage back. I still gotta find out if the cat is clogged. I just haven't found the time to tackle things in this cold arse weather.

i drained some of the oil out and i started the car and the gauge is working again and the tapping is gone im going to drive it around tomorrow and hope the tapping doesnt come back and the check gauges light stays off

i made it all the way to school with no tapping then on the way home it started tapping and the check gauges light came on so i shut the car off and started the car again and it was fine
my gfs father said i may have bent the pushrod and my father says it could be the lifters

Could be a lifter. However, that should not have anything to do with the check gauges light.
When the check gauges light comes on, what do the gauges look like? Oil pressure, temp, volts...
