  • water pump took a dump

I have had a grinding noise for awhile when I rev the car or drive the car and let off the gas. So I narrowed it down yesterday to the water pump internal bearings are bad again. I took off the belt and reved it and it didn't make the noise. So I'll take it in for my free GM Goodwrench lifetime warranty, this is about my 3rd one in 13 years. Also will be getting my free Altenator on Tuesday , which is my 4 th one in 13 years. I have had the A/C compressor replace 4 times and the starter twice, all free parts and labor. I'm slowly getting my money back from the car. I will never sell it so after I do all the GM lifetime warranties through the years I'll make alot of my money back.

Really! I didn't know about that GM Goodwrench lifte time warranty program. That's a good deal.

I didn't know water pump could make such noise. It's usually the alternator that does that. Knock on wood I haven't replaced either one. Although my alternator is starting to sound like my SC.

Yea, when I had my extended warranty I had everything replaced so I got the lifetime warranties on some parts. This is the 3 rd time the internal bearings have went on my water pumps. I don't think I have ever had them start to leak, always the internal bearings. For the GM Goodwrench warranty you must be the original owner and have had to replaced the parts after the factory warranty was expired, also you have to take it to the dealer that did the work or you have to pay labor for the part if it is at another dealer. The Alt. I replaced awhile back with a spare since I didn't think it would make it down to the dealer where I had the warranty, so I called and talk with the Service manager and he said thats fine just bring in the Alt. and the warranty paper work and they'll give you a new Alt. I think thats good for them since they don't have to do the labor.
