Running Rich?

i think i am running too rich because when i get on it i can smell exhaust fumes, and am getting bad mileage, how can i fix this?

A search might help. Many topics and threads have been made about this.

Other symptoms may also help. Any smells of raw gasoline? Hard starts? Checked fuel filter, injector leaks, fuel pressure regulator. Had a tune up recently? Plugs, wires, seafoamed?

no it has been a long time since it got a tune up, im betting thats what it is, how often are you supposed to do a tune up?

A tune up is basically replacing parts that are advised in the maintenance manual for the car's mileage. They can include plugs, wires, broken or rotting hoses, fluids, brakes, cleaning air filter, parts, etc.

Varies on when the last one was done and what the mileage of the vehicle is. Check the maintenance manual for your car, if you have one. It'll tell you what needs to be done at certain mile markers and how often to do this.
