I have a '95 3.4 that has a problem of dying occasionally when you are at a stop light. Also it will sometimes only idle down to 2000 rpm. I have taken it to the dealer 2 times but it does not give a trouble code, they drove it several days but of course it did not die on them. This is actually the car I bought for my daughter. She drives it to school or whenever. I am concerned for her safety should it die on her pulling out in traffic. This is a 5-speed car. Does anyone know something I could check out or replace to solve this problem. Thanks in advance.
Nick
Also ever notice some stutters when drivng down the road? Or hard starting? these 2 are most likely related to ignition but, I would assume dealer would pick up on that test driving it.
Mustang & viper I have spent a ton of money on this car since we have owned it. I have replaced fuel pump(what a pain in the *** )and fuel filter, ignition control module, checked fuel preasure w/ gauge to verify fuel regulator operation. I have cleaned the throttle body and IAC plunger recently but the car died once since then, the IAC could still be a problem, it is old. The engine runs fine down the road, no stutter or hard starting. Cranks over about 3-5 seconds before starting when cold. It idles smooth at 1000 rpm hot 99.9% of the time except, has a 2000 rpm episode about once a month.
Nick
There are quite a few solvents and chemicals that you should NOT use when cleaning the IAC. These are detailed in service manuals. If may be very possible that the IAC is busted at this point.

I see that you are also in Kentucky. If you get some time, you can bring it to Louisville and we will check it out for you. I don't know how far away you are, but give us a shout.

Have u had your injectors checked? just a thought, i had a 95 Camaro 3.4 5speed that basicly ran like crap, except while cruising down the road, but anything else it just wouldn't go, and it did ocasionaly die. 2 dealers later they finally thought to check the injectors and they were leaking. what do your plugs look like? mine where all carboned up. i feel ya on spending tons of money and not fixing it, i spend almost $2000 on mine before they found the problem. Good luck
Hey everyone! I've been trying to remove my transmission for two days now! I need to replace the clutch. Only thing I've got left holding the transmission...
