where do i go from here with my cars mods?

  • where do i go from here with my cars mods?

    its basically stock but i have a 160 degree thermo and a k & n airfilter :naughty: i know i need a manual fan switch but besides that what does anyone suggest my next steps should be? and does it matter what order?

        EDIT just saw post

        First: Exhaust....headers, cat, cat back ( do it all at once if your paying someone to do it)
        Then, some type of CAI, depending on your car (what kinda car do you have?)
        maybe gearing, aluminum DS after that.

        since you wanna run 13s i would look at nitrous setup and/or cam

          i have a 2002 3.8 automatic camaro. im trying to stay away from nitrous since the power can't be put out all the time. I just want to step on the pedal and the power to be there.

                thats my mentality.

                after u do full bolt ons, get some abbot heads and toss a cam in there and call it a day.

                those 3.8's see mega gains from those abbot heads.

                  you won't hit 13's without going into the engine, or stripping out the car

                  with that said: cold air intake, aluminum driveshaft, posi rear w/gears, 3" exhaust, hi-flo cat, headers, subframe connectors, lower control arms, and then go into the engine or lose some weight.

                        so i have always heard that 3" exhaust is over kill. I have had two different guys at two different shops tell me that 2.5 is good for around 300-350hp. I had it on my bird for a while, and it pulled good after about 4800 rpms so i went to 2.5" and it was torque-ee-er (more torque-ee?) and i didnt feel any effects on top end performance.

                        Totally correct me if im wrong, im here to learn....

                              subframe connectors(SFCs) basically weld in and connect the sub frame. Are uni bodys seem to flex allot under torque.

                              lower control arms (LCAs) will get rid of wheel hop. http://www.umiperformance.com/201520

                              lot of controversy on this. I would like to see a side by side of a car with 2.5 then 3. What most people say is with larger diameter exhaust you lose back pressure, resulting in lost power on the low end. I would go 3", let it breathe. Thats what im running and my car has plenty on the low end.

                              also is your car an auto? anyways i would look into gears, 3.73s, maybe 4.10s. Also a stall converter
