    Whant should a 1998 v6 Firebird run at idle stop as a temperature on the dash gage.

    you know how usually the guage will read 1/4 the way up when you drive, well on my camaro and a few of my friends it goes up to half when sitting and idling for a while and has gone almost to 3/4 before. its ok to hit 1/2 or so every once in a while, but i would keep the car off or run your fans manually to keep the temp down. hope this helps

      depends....in the summer just idling my 3.8 wants to stay at about 200-210 with the ac on.
