  • Grinding noise on cold startup

    I have a grinding noise that lasts only a second when i first start my car in the cold canadian morning.it sounds like its coming from under the hood but i never got a chance to get someone to start it while i listened yet. Is there any chance this is normal? it doesnt sound normal.but i dont know

    i get the same thing

    its the starter gear not releasing from the flywheel/flexplate fast enough.. mine has done this every winter since i have had it.. usually when it reaches around 32F
