  • stuck pass head light

    just replaced head lights they went out pass head light has been stuck up when i unpluged it and turned it off it went down put new one in and turned it off it stayed up it just started to do this i did a search and saw the headlight fix with the new gears is that what i need to do or is it the motor

    Do you hear a grinding noise? If not, then it is probably not the gears.

      If you look on the front of the headlight motor, there is a hand crank covered by a rubber boot. If you remove that boot you can manually lower the light. Make sure that there is no resistance as you do this so you will not cause more damage. If it will not budge, there is a possibility that the motor itself is frozen. Does the other work correctly, because the other thing I could think of would be a fuse. Try the hand crank,though, because it just may be jammed.

        Hi all, I'm new to the board... my headlights would get stuck up or down, and sometimes be fine for awhile. It was corrosion in the wiring harness behind the headlights. I cut out the harnesses and the lights have been working great ever since (for the past year or so).
