I lke MSD myself, I have had taylors, but for the past 8 years I've been running MSD 8.5 wires with boot protectors.

I just put in a set of the Taylor Spiro-Pro 8mm wires. Pretty good so far and run about $60 for custom fit.

well seeing that the taylor cost the same as the MSD i think im gonna go with MSD because i know they are good.

Re: Msd Vs Taylor Vs Acdelco

The MSDs are rated at about 50 ohms of resistance per foot, the taylors about 350 ohms, and the ac delco around 1000 ohms. Accell comes in anywhere from 25 to 500 ohms. The theory is that the lower the resistance the better the spark. But this also means your coils will reach peak voltage easier. This can aggravate coil misfire issues. I ran MSD for 2 years then went to accell extreme heat wires.

When I took my car to get it dyno'd last year (at a shop that builds and pretty much only works on race cars - mainly drag cars), the first thing the guy noticed when he opened the hood was the MSD wires I had installed. He said I should replace them as soon as I got the chance, that he had seen too many guys have issues with them. He also said something that I thought was weird, until I read the last post - that the MSD wires didn't have enough resistance. My thought was WTF? how can you have too little resistance? They did also have some trouble getting a good signal for the dyno through those wires, but I'm not entirely sure that was the wires. I still haven't gotten around to replacing them, but when I do I will probably go with Accell or Taylor.

FWIW, I run 8mm Accell wires on my 240SX race car, and have zero complaints about them.

On every dyno if they try to do it off the wires they will have problems , most of the time they can't get the TQ side to work. So they have to take it off the injector wire, for accurate reading.

i have msd super conductor wires on my 96rs and love them. I have taylors spiro pro's on my grand prix and their good too. I have accel 8.8 on my 69 and again not a bad wire. However, when i put on my roller rockers i had to go to taller valve covers so the wires barely fit. I'm going to replace them with universal set of msd 8.5 super conductors. I'd say msd is the best, but taylor and accel make good wires too. Can't go wrong with either make. If you want a comparable wire to msd and want taylors, check out their thundervolt 8.2 and 10.4 wires with 50 ohms resistence just like the msds.

I've run Taylor Spiro wires the past 6 years or so and have never had any problems with them.

Honestly though, someone could change my wires and I likely wouldn't notice anything with a stock ignition.

i decided on getting the STREET FIRE'S by MSD with 500 ohm resistance per foot,i didn't want to go too little ohms to put a strain on my coils.

i was under the impression that more resistance is what kills coils?

nope,if you have too little it can disrupt the coil functions, thats what i heard,it could be wrong
