"2nd" button near stereo on 98 F-Bird

My 98 has a Monsoon system, next to the cigarette lighter there is a flip switch, to the left it says "2nd". Further to the left is the pontiac emblem. There is wiring behind it, but nothing is hooked up. Any ideas? PLEASE help!!! :eek:

it is probibly your Second gear start switch, it is to be used when accelerating in the snow, it starts the automatic transmition off in 2ND gear to reduce wheel spin.

If there is a empty wiring harness next to your SGS button that is a pre wire for the convertible switch.
