My alternater is starting to sound like the bearings are going bad. I got it test and it still good. The Voltage output is around 13.2. I have a few extra that draw from it but when i put the light and heat in high she goes dont to 12.7? She I get a new stock alternator or a strong alternator?

Sometimes the alt. can sound like a supercharger, but it doesn't mean they are bad yet. Once the battery starts draining quick then the alt. has gone bad.

Re: alternator bearings bad?
I think that with no real load on it, the output should be about 14v. The 13.2 and then dropping to 12.7 under load seems kinda low. But, as long as your battery is staying charged and the lights are not dimming a lot, I wouldn't worry about it. Just replace it if/when it ever dies.
If you have a lot of current-drawing accessories, a high-output alternator would be a good replacement when the time comes.2002 Silver Firebird A4
T-Tops, Leather, Y87, W68, Chrome Wheels
Bone Stock

Re: alternator bearings bad?
12.7 is more than fine, between 12 and 14 is normal. wouldnt worry about the whine, mine has whined for almost 4 years on the t/a and it works just fine. that and its funny seeing the look i get when people ask if its supercharged and i just laugh about it and tell them not yet.

i have had people ask me if it was supercharged before, although i do hear a lot of 3.8's that make the noise, never an lt1
