  • a/c lowpressure sensor help!!

    the sensor for the low side on my ac is messed up. I had a leak and my brother in law fixed it but when the ac was turned on after he charged it it was cycling on/off like every 2 seconds so he disconnected the low side sensor and tied the wires together so the ac wouldnt cycle off when u turned it on. after about 2 months i replaced the sensor with a new one and hooked the wires back up but it still does the same thing. what could be wrong with it maybe the pressure is wrong but i am very sure it is right because i just put in a new compressor and charged it again i believe 40 low and 200 or 300 high not sure on the high. does anyone know what the pressure should be. it is a 93 with 134a. i want this fixed because i dont want to freeze the coils

        Okay just saw your message heres my diagnosis:

        If the pressures are normal on both high and low sides and your clutch is cycling rapidly its an indication of a few things that you should have checked out:
        1 low refrigerant charge
        2 partially restricted - condensor core, evaporator orifice, or a/c liquid line

        Normal high side pressure is 150 - 250
        Normal low side pressure is 35-40

        with the a/c system off and the clutch disengaged you should be reading equal low and high side pressures and they should reflect ambient outside temperature.

          no idea what the problem is.. however i have removed the whole AC system from my 93, if ya need any parts, im looking to get rid of em ;)

              is the ressure #'s that pfirebirdrumble00 gave me for 134a or r12 because i know that 134a runs higher then r12 and i have 134a in my car or is that the range for both of them. i will have to check out those ideas that pfirebirdrumble00 gave me when i get off work today at about 5 if you have any other ideas or suggestions please post them
