My window is starting to screw up, it'll only go like half way down, and when I try to get the window to go up, it'll go up about an inch then stop, then I have to wait about 30 seconds and it'll go up a little more, and so on. It's really pi$$ing me off too. How hard is it to take the motor out and put a new one in???? Or would it be easier to pay someone to do it???

I'm not sure about for our cars, but I know that, in general, it is possible if you have a decent repair manual and some mechanical know-how. I've replaced window motors in a Grand Am in the past and it was a pain, but it was doable. Maybe somebody else can give you more specific advice for changing Fbod window motors...\'93 3.4L Camaro A4<br />*Some fat P245/50R16 tires<br />*K&N FIPK<br />*Taylor 8mm Spiro Pro\'s<br />*Borla catback<br /><a href=\"http://www.members.cox.net/constantine/Project%20Royalty.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Royal Webpage</a>

It would certainly be easier to pay someone to do it, but probably quite costly too! You have to drill out the rivets that hold the motor in place to remove it. I have never replaced the motor, only the window channel, but it is tight behind there. Not a fun job :(

I could get some friends that have a little more know how than me to help. I know I can get a motor for $60 and if I can pay $100 total for the motor and installation I'll be fine. I just never have the time to do anything with my car so I think I just may see if I can do that.<a href=\"http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2093533\" target=\"_blank\">CarDomain Page</a>

I've done it. It was surprisingly easy. Handled it in about an hour.
Take off the door panel.
Unplug the bad motor.
You can pry those rivets out, they're not too tough.
Switch motors.
Rivet the new one in.
Install the door panel.
Piece of cake! Chilton's has a section in the book on how to take off the door panel if you don't know.\'94 Camaro 3.4<br />\"No, Starvin Marvin. That\'s my pot pie.\"

I've taken the door panel off before when replacing my speakers, that was easy. I guess I'll just wait until this weekend and take a look at it.<a href=\"http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2093533\" target=\"_blank\">CarDomain Page</a>

I had the motor 'fixed' on my 1989 Pontiac 6000. Let's say Midas said they coudl do it, then MAJORLY screwed it up and ended up blowing a circuit. 4 days later I got my car back because they couldn;t find the short circuit.Zaino; FireBatCave Decals; Red Inside<br /><br />K&N Filter & Lid; Removed MAF screen; FRA; Raised Air Box; 180°F Stat; BMR STB; 3\" Catco & S-pipe; Borla Cat-Back; O2 Sim; HPPIII; NGK TR55s; Taylor 8mm wires<br /><br /> <a href=\"http://www.cardomain.com/id/cbass300\" target=\"_blank\">http://www.cardomain.com/id/cbass300</a>
