Hey all, last night my mom told me that there was a leak where my car was last sitting so i went out to investigate and saw it, just a little puddle of brown/yellow fluid very slick, BUT towards where the puddle began (before it started to run downhill) it was a teal color.... like almost where it had sat the longest... anyway, i looked into my engine bay and my brake booster (i believe that is what it is) looks very leaky, could this be brake fluid? i think it is coming from the little tupperware container in the upper right of our engine bays... what is it and how do i fix it?!?!

Do not drive it too much longer! This is your braking system that may have a leak, and you don't want to lose them at any critical moment when stopping.
If the leak is starting from the rear where it meets with the firewall, then you'll probably need to replace the Master Cylinder all together. No biggy though, they are relatively cheap on ebay (about $20), and not hard to install.sigpic

Even if you tighten it down to the firewall, it will still leak. It's not supposed to leak at all. The firewall bolts just secure it to the firewall. They have nothing to do with any fluid, nor have gaskets.sigpic

ok well i just got back from midas, found no leak didnt charge me even though i took up 45 minutes of their time, love those guys... anyways we pulled out the brake fluid container from the master cylinder and it was dry inside, he says must be spillage, but not of brake fluid... or atleast it wasnt from the connection... now MAYBE it was from the containers cap being loose but i duno.... besides would brake fluid be like teal colored?.... anyways ill keep watching for the leak but brakes work fine so i just wanted to prevent something from going horribly wrong...-Hawk<br /><br />===================================<br />Black 2001 Pontiac Firebird<br />Automatic Transmission Street Bird<br /><br /> <a href=\"http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/550453\" target=\"_blank\">http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/550453</a> <br /><br />\"Live like you were Dying\"
