alternator maybe?

i heard an odd sound coming around my alternator, its like a screeching/whining sound. Also, the battery power on my cluster drops from full to less than half, then goes up a little bit and then the battery power begins to go down like its being drained, my interior lights dimmed temporarily. Anyone know why??

take it to have it checked out but i would say thats what it is..

yea i haven't used my car in like a month bc of a broken cable, its just been sitting there and idk if the temperature would have an effect on it since its been extremely cold in the last month.

how long did you let it run when it was doing all of this? tha battery could have been low.. **** if my car stay outside and not in the garage i can't start it at all after like a week and a half.. fvckin optima!

i let it run for about a good 20-25 min, whining noise went away after about 10-15 min but my battery started to drain a little. I pulled the car out and while i was doing that was when the battery indicator went back and forth.
