Looks like they'd work fine to me. By making your own wire.. You mean using the wires you have in there now by just cutting the ends and stripping them right?

There are kits with X amount of wire, you measure, cut to length, strip, and crimp.

Would these be suitable replacements for making my own wire? They are listed as plug boots but look exactly like what MSD has going into my coils right now. Does it make a difference?

Those are what MSD sends with there univerisal unfinished wire sets.

Yeah but he already has the length. I've bought an MSD set for my other car so I know there is some excess wire he can use so he doesn't have to waste money.

Yeah that is what I meant. I just cut off the straight plug boot and crimped that one that I linked on. Everything works, easy as pie :P
