intake manifold/spray foam write up?

anyone know where thats at?? i can't seem to find it.. its where the guy used spray foam under his intake manifold..

no spray foam like the insulation some guy made a write up and posted it he put it under his lower intake manifold

Are you talking about the molded upper intake WickedX6 did with his 3.8 where he cut the top and made like seperate runners for each intake port ?

there is a gap between your intake manifold and your engine... this guy used foam insulation to fill that void so the intake wouldn't get as hot and therefor allow cooler air into the mixture.. i will do some more digging and try to find it..

i give up i have looked though a few hundered threads.. it might have been on the other sight.. i remember seeing it around late6 early 07 i thought damn it!

I would think the oil would degrade the foam... not so good for the motor..

well it would have no way into the motor it just sits on top of it sandwiched between it and the lower manifold.. they make a version of the foam that is latex i think the oil would have a harder time breaking that down.. i am not gonna do it i was just wanting to find the write up so i could maybe email the guy and ask him some stuff..

ever had your manifold off? if not i can't help you..
yes you use a gasket..

there is a gap between your BLOCK and your LOWER MANIFOLD that gap was filled with insualtion foam to keep the heat from the BLOCK to soak into the LOWER MANIFOLD. it goes on the upperside of the BLOCK between the HEADS and the under side of the LOWER MANIFOLD

why.... the engine won't get hot enough to have an effect on it.. i am not saying i am going to do it i was just wanting to talk to the guy that did it..
