  • Need Help-Remove yellow paint

i was driving into the parking lot and i gus they just painted the curve. My back tire rubbed against the curve and now 1/4th of it is yellow.

is there anything i can use to take off the yellow paing off of the tire.

    thanks

hmmm..im not sure..i would be very concerned about what paint stripper would do to the rubber..my advice would be to take some sand paper to it and sand it right off..and burn out the paint thats on the bottom

actually most of the paint is on the side wall.. near the rim... is it gonna be a good idea to sand the side wll of the tire?

it'll be ok to sand the side wall..dont get me wrong..you dont want to go an 1/8th of an inch or anything..just right on the very surface..just enough to get the paint off..put some masking tape over your rim to make sure you dont scratch it..the only bad thing i can think of by doing this is that it may throw the balancing of that wheel off..but that depends on how much yellow there really is..but its really the only thing i could think of to remove it as safely as possible

hm maybe rubbing alcohol? its worth a shot. sand paper is a good idea, and i dont see how it could throw of the balancing? maybe try a lighter?fire is good. then if that fails.....whip of the SHARPIE!!! wooo. or black nail polish. no one will ever no.
