• No power after seafoam treatment

So I was trying to fix my noisy lifters the other day with the seafoam treatment as described on ls1tech.com, which i have done before with my previous engine (i have since had it swapped out with a newer 3800 II). When I tried to start the car back up it took a couple tries, and of course started to idle unusually high for a little while. I put it in drive and tried to take off down the road under full throttle to blow all the smoke/gunk out of me engine and exhaust.

Basically the car crapped out on me and wouldn't rev over about 3100 RPM and barely had enough power for me to make it down the road and back to my house. My check engine light was already on due to another issue (EGR valve) but now the 'Reduced Engine Power' light is on.

I've tapped my cat a few times and it sounds like it may be clogged. Could this be my problem? Would it cause this much of a power loss? The car drove fine just before I tried the seafoam and I was hoping all the gunk that I cleaned out of the engine internals just clogged up my cat.

    I drive a '99 NBM camaro 3.8
recently had new wires and plugs put in

pull the MAF sensor and clean it. also check to make sure whatever line you sucked the seafoam in through (assuming it's probably the line attatched to the brake booster), that it is back on tight. Then next if these do not work, I would try to rent a scanner and get the codes so we can better elp diagnose this problem. also, next time you do this, leave it in park and rev it instead of driving it. First off, it stinks really bad for the person behind you and if it smokes a lot, can hinder the vision of other drivers. Just a word of thought
Car expresses who you are. If you have a ****ty car, you must be a ****ty person;)

http://www.cardomain.com/ride/995979

change your plugs again, using seafoam in the cylinders will cause the carbon to break upand foul your plugs out.

and why exactly would you use seafoam in the cylinders to fix a noisy lifter?
