  • changeing spark plugs on passenger side. 3.4L, and gap question.

I'm changeing the plugs and wires to try to get rid of a roughf idol and a reluctant engine knock. I got the passenger side plugs fine, but my hands are bleeding from the passenger side, just trying to get the wires off the plugs. Theres a thing in the way, (don't know what to call it) and i broke my sprocket's adaptor trying to get that thing off. Anyone have any advice?

And it's supposed to be a .045 gap right? the ones in there were up in the .06's, and im starting to think that may have had something to do with my problem.

    .045's is correct.

the EGR can get in the way for two of the pass. side plugs, you can simply remove it. there are two 10mm bolts holding it into the exhaust manifold but make sure to replace the gasket when you put it back on. the drivers side should be easier.

the drivers side was nothing, but the ERG broke my wrench! it is still on and those plugs are still old.

        the egr broke your wrench?

its IS possible to do plugs/wires with the EGR in there, its just MUCH easier with it out.

well, it snapped the adapter. I'm going to try again with liquid wrench.

you gotta push em on till you hear em click. make sure the end says dist/coil on the end you are putting on your coil.

                not pressing hard enough?

they should just snap right on.
