if head gaskets werent the problem, my personal opinion would be to leave them alone. unless you think the heads might be cracked...

If you do replace head gaskets, go with Cometic... and when you get it all back together, make sure you flush out the radiator and water pump and everything and then switch to Green coolant... many lawsuits have indicated that the DEX-cool is responsible for alot of these i/m and headgasket failures... and I think I would agree with cam98aro, and go ahead and replace the head gasket especially if you plan on keeping the car for a long time...

I only have to get the head resurfaced if something wrong with it right?

You don't have any head problems, so you wouldn't have to have it milled any. Just take the rocker arms off, pushrods, remove the head. Ive replaced the head gaskets in mine with Fel-pro, didn't have problems with it at all. BUT, once you remove those head bolts, you're going to have to replace them, they are torque to yields and can only be used once (your own risk if you reuse them). I got some ARP head studs, MUCH easier to remove and install the heads if anything were to happen to them again.
