Yeah I learned the hard way, that batteries only are good up to 5 years or 50K miles, whichever comes first. Even if it seems fine, if it's at that point, replace it.
Ok, guys, picked up a new battery, cleaned the connections and greased them up.
She started right up and ran fine. No more codes either but I just ran it for 2 minutes. I'll take it for a spin next week since I'll be out of town this week and I'll let you guys know.
Just wanted to thank everyone for their help so far.
It was starting to sound to me like a broken plate in the battery. They'll show full voltage and die right out when you hit the ignition. Give them a few minutes, then they're back up to full again, only to do the same when you hit the ignition again.
Had that happen with an older car I had years ago. I went with the back woods tie strap battery holder and the vibration had cracked one or two plates inside. One day, went to start and nothing. Go get my meter, put it across it and it was fully charged. Put the meter down, go to start...dead. In the brief time it took to grab the meter again, there was the voltage again. I looked for cameras, then had someone else try starting it and you could feel the click inside the case. Since then, I make sure I put them in nice and solid.
