wel i have now a 180 termo in my car,and for me it doesnt work well ,,,,why???? well in my country is 75% stop and go traffic,,so the car heats up more,,,as soon the termo opens,,the hot coolant passes in the radiator,,,but it doesnt get colder because im in a stop and go traffic and the fan dont go on at 180,,,and before the coolant in the radiator cools down the termo opens again ,and so it continue and i notice the the temp goes up and up but it doesnt redline because the fan kicks in,it never over heats but i have a very unstable temp, about 20 min driver the termo just stays open and only the fan stops it from overheating,,,so im changing back to 190,,its very stable at that temp...my country is 33 to 35 celsius all year long,,no winter here.

u need a tune or a manual fan switch---the fans don't magically come on sooner with a different degree thermostat. i have a 180 on my DD with a manual fan switch and i can keep it as cool as i want in traffic.

if it is getting hotter than before, then you have an air bubble in the line yet and you need to bleed the air bubble out.

is a 3.4,i guess they dont have a bleed valve (i may be wrong),,,its not getting hotter then before, at 190 the termostath closes and the coolant in the radiator gets a chance to cool down,,but with the 180 it stays open because the termo opens before the one in the radiator gets cool.
