  • Crapy plastic PCV gasket thingy?

Yea well I was installing a new PCV valve today and when I took the black cover off that crapy plastic gasket just broke into a million pieces I pieced what was left of it together and put the black cover back on and clamped it down making a black cover, broken gasket, top of the engine sandwich.

I went back to Autozone and nope they didn't have it… any one know where to get a replacement or does it look like I’m going to the dealership to get a plastic thingy that really doesn’t look like it does anything or at least I think car seems to run fine and the idle isn’t rough any more, the old one was shot.

use RTV sealant, just dont overdo it so it squishes everywhere. thats what i did, and i thought thats what everyone did.

The PCV does all the work inside correct? I tightened the cover down pretty good I don’t know if it's supposed to be loose so it can breath or what... So confused my Grand AM had a breather non of this spectacular stuff.

Yea I think I'll get some of that make your own gasket stuff tomorrow.
