Re: WHITE SMOKE coming from exhaust

    yes you are correct.

    same transmission.

    different internals.

the camaro 4l60e SHOULDVE never been built.

they should have stuck with the corvette version of the 4l60e and put that on.

the tranny off the heavy trucks are much better.

    THEY WONT BOLT RIGHT UP

    but the parts are interchangable.

a corv. tranny a cam. tranny and trck tranny. (yes all the same design in tranny's) just different parts.

heres a strong rating from 1-10

    camaro 4l60e like a 4

    corvette 4l60e like a 6

    truck 4l60e like a 9

a built 4l60 e core that will fit a camaro with the right corvette and truck internals with a shift kit and a built kit.

FAR better than any out there. hell. oh yeah and i always would advise TWO tranny coolers.

thats what i have on mine.

Re: WHITE SMOKE coming from exhaust

why do you feel let down?

        its just bad ingenuity haha.

        but honestly.

how often do you hear about truck 4l60e JUST LOSING gears and slipping like a mo fo.

        along with corvette.

        sure it happends
        but NOT that often

        hell

CAMAROS those 4l60es will go out just driving them normally

they shoulda put a sticker on the side of them that says

Transmission will fail UNDER EXTREME DRIVING conditions

then you go into the owners manual

and under EXTREME DRIVING CONDITIONS it says

"Extreme Driving Conditions Include: Easy sunny grocery store runs, Cruising down main street, Carting more than two people in the car. Turning left to much, stop and go traffic due to red light that change to green."

        then itll say

Recommended use: drive only 1000 miles a year and have the tranny fluid serviced ever 30 days to insure tranny functionality."

BUT NOOOO they dont tell us these things and whenn you least expect it. YOUR driving to mickey dee's and WHOOPS there goes 2nd and its slippin into 3 and 4 hardly engages and 1st kicks like a B*TCH.

        yep =]

ingenuity is WHAT GM specializes in :D

i spend 3 years testing that theory.

ive put 3 different 4l60e's in my car.

          i would know.

please/this is not up for discussion.

i dont wanna waste my time explaining.

NO POWER LOSS is a relative term you idi*t.

OF COURSE your going to LOSE some power. THROUGH ANY tranny.

          but with this set up.

power loss in MIN compared to other setups.

ive been in the car industry for 10 some odd years and my family has been in the gm dealer business for over 40.

ok, for one thing, i never doubted you, im not sure why you are calling me an idiot.

all i said is you are going to get **** on by saying you have a transmission with almost no power loss

well. Im sorry got going off on you like that.

haha my day hasnt been that great.

but yes i understand how you can get turned around with what i said.

it does seem somewhat crazy to say that.

            but like i said,

it was all in terms of relativity.

so what kinda car you got?

Re: WHITE SMOKE coming from exhaust

Our stock 4l60E's have proven quite well, for over 400 hp. Mine has been upgraded alitttle for the turbo thats going on, but with a Transgo HD2, vette servo and Hptuners the tranny performs like a champ. Do you have Hptuners for your car to tune with and what year Camaro do you have? I'm interested in your cam specs to be dynoing 260 hp? Thats just about 100hp over stock. I figured I'll just get a Performbuilt tranny or take it back to the mechanic that built mine the last time if it starts to go out. The V8 guys usaully stepup to a 4L80E or is it 4L85E to try to get a beefer tranny, which it is.
