i think if you properly drain the system you dont have to cap them. Not sure though

      Re: capping the a/c lines

System is completly drained (legally)...I have no intention of ever putting A/c back in...hasn't worked for over a year and a half...and I havent used it in 2 years...I just want to take everything out, but I still need my heat...I just dont want to cut these things and have problems later...

Your dryer hoses are threaded, they will unscrew. You will be left with 2 hose ends sticking out of the firewall on the pass side.

Yeah I took mine out and I don't remember cutting anything. Hopefully you were asking before you did this.

                Re: capping the a/c lines

yep...Im not doing anything until I have everything and know what im doing...I do have the shorter belt on right now already though so...all thats left is the weight reduction portion...

So I unscrew these lines from both sides...on side is the canister, the other side is by the firewall? What goes onto the pipes at the firewall?

                    Re: capping the a/c lines

I'm doing the same to mine. Going to see if I can find shipping caps to just keep general crud out of the evaporator core. Could I ask what size belt you used and how did you route it? Did you use the idler or skip it completely?

                      Re: capping the a/c lines

ZZP has an A/C delete pulley that I used that is a direct replacement for the compressor pulley. I didnt want to change the angle of the belt going to the supercharger.

so its perfectly safe for the evap coil lines to remain open? what happens if crap gets in there? anything?...I might take the evap coil out in the future as well...I know you gotta take out the heater core to get to it though, and cut something in the firewall to get it out or something...

I don't see a problem, it's just "cleaner" and looks finished with ship caps. Nothing should happen to it, but in the future, should you sell, the new owner will have to get a new evap if road stuff starts getting into it. The way I'm doing mine, if I sell, the new guy can put it back together again. I would make sure as much oil as possible is out so it doesn't create a "phantom leak" down the road.
