  • knock sensor and wire?

today I figured out why my car has been running so horribly, after a third mechanic looked at it...we finally discovered it was the knock sensor. He said I need to go to a salvage yard and get a knock sensor and wire from another camaro. It seems to be no salvage yard around has what I need. I can buy a knock sensor at autozone but not the wire hes talking about. What I'm trying to figure out is this...can I use the wire thats on there or can I splice in some universal wire or something?

    Re: knock sensor and wire?

If you just need wire just get some 14-16ga. wire and wire it, it's not special wire. Just get a KR sensor from autozone, I wouldn't put a used KR sensor in if you are needing a new one.

Yeah, just use the connector off your old wire. Don't cut the wiring harness side.
