A/C Blower very loud, whats up?

What could cause the blower to be so loud. Sounds like an airplane in my dash. Not exactly sure if it is the blower, but the tone/loudness matches the speed on the switch..

Could be the clutch goes out on the A/C, you'll know when it locks up or won't lock up. Mine wouldn't locked up and started squealing real bad if I turned my A/C off and would run fine with it on.(thanks god) but it could go the other way too. Or maybe it needs more freon with oil.

Doesnt have any sqeeling, and it works very well. Its deff not the compressor. Just sounds like a prop plane way in the distance, but amplified in the dash... If that makes any sence. Dont see how freon or oil would have anything to do with it. A/C blows ICE cold on a hot day within 3 seconds... (I think your post was refering to the comp, its deff in the dash...)

Check for debris in the blower motor assembly. Mine was filled with leaves and made lots of noise. Now that I cleaned it out it is just about silent.

Good to hear that. Looks like it really will fix it, if not, at least I know how to take it out and put in a new one.

I've had this happen many times in the past. Of course that is before my clutch on my AC went out, but our cars like to suck leaves in the blower fan. It is a simple fix, and prolly will only take 30 minutes to completely fix. It kind of sounds like a baseball card in a bicycle tire, except there are 400 leaves all slapping around on the fan.

btw, our cars are notorious for making indoor jacuzzi's. What I mean is the heater core is right on the other side of the passenger seat firewall, so the condensation from the heater core or if you have a leak drains itself through a small drain hole. If that hole gets clogged though the water/coolant will gather up and then come up over the firewall and start filling up the passenger side floor board. So right around the tire well under the car you'll prolly notice a couple holes, one of those is the drain hole. I had to stick a metal rod in there and the thing drained for a good minute. Just make sure it's clear and there are no issues. Found out the hard way, don't be like me...just unplug the hole. :)

Thats exactly it LOL. Im going to try and get to it tonight, I really cant handle it too much more. Ill tell of my findings..

Did mine early today. Only found about 2 leaves and the crunched up bits of another, along with a twig. But there was a LOT of dust. Guess I don't use the fans enough.

Only a few people passed by while I was working on this. Must have been a good laugh to see me headfirst on my back under that dash with my feet propped against the passenger seat headrest.

I think its from the way the sun was hitting the dust, and there was a lot! Toothbrush worked wonderfully.

I was halfway hanging out the car and laying in the seat and floor LOL. Still couldnt get two hands down in there.

So far I haven't heard any fluttering noises coming from it. I tested it by turning it on the different settings for a couple minutes after putting it back together. Just the sound of rushing air.

As far as a trend... I'm not sure on that. :P I've been planning on doing this for a couple months now, but too lazy to get the car out and find a quick write-up for it. Glad it's done now.
