      it also doesn't make it the first place the OP needs to go. I'd be pretty mad if I went through the trouble of pulling my heads, only to find out that the stock, 168k mile cat had finally given out, or that there was a an air bubble or two in the coolant system. Starting with the most expensive fix, and then working your way back to cheaper ones, isn't the best modus operandi

        If the oil is good and water and no smoking , I wouldn't go straight for the head gasket, Smoke is right you need to bleed your coolant system, check the thermo , fan fuses to make sure the fans are working fine, check CAT. While checking fuses on mine I found my fan fuse had blown and wasn't working(don't know for how long since it is winter here )really heated up for being colder in AZ to like 200 sometimes(180 normal), if it was summer time it would of over heated but that just shows you it could be something minor and always start least epensive to most. It will save you money in the end. Also bleeding the air out of these cars takes awhile sometimes at least to get it right.
